Developing a new chair for Vitra in the wake of a masterpiece like the Eames Lounge Chair was a unique challenge, reflects Antonio Citterio. But, worthy of its iconic predecessor, Citterios premium leather chair cradles the sitter in deeply relaxing comfort, whether reading, enjoying conversation, or reclining. The concealed mechanism can be adjusted to any angle and locked in place. The inviting armrests, feather-filled neck pillow, and high, winged back complement the precisely contoured design, anchored by an aluminum base. Includes matching ottoman. Made with semi-aniline dyed napa leather with natural grain surface in Germany by Vitra, a manufacturer of iconic modern furnishings thats widely represented in MoMAs collection.
Trained as an architect, Milan-based designer Antonio Citterio is a creative collaborator with several international brands, including B&B Italia, Flos, and Vitra. His work for B&B Italia was chosen to decorate sets in the James Bond film Quantum of Solace, bringing some star power to the brand. With Patricia Viel, he designed buildings and interiors from Munich to Miami. Two examples of his work are included in MoMAs collection.
