Returns Simplified.Ashland Bay just came out with a collection of merino/tussah solids in an 80/20 blend of merino 64’s (21.5 micron) and tussah silk. This wonderful fiber blend is great for spinning or for any kind of felting project, wet, nuno, or needle. Ultra fine and silky, Balsam is a rich and earthy medium green color (very much like their Ivy merino – pictured in my shop). The fibers of this product are blended first and then dyed. So the silk, which takes dye differently, gives the top a high luster, two tone depth. Of course it still has a lovely hand and is “next to skin” soft, with a truly decadent feel to it. First picture is Ashland Bay’s own and the most accurate. The others are mine, taken in different lights.
