Downdraft 40 cubic feet gas kiln equipped with gas kiln sitter system
Model – DD40/Brick/ Propane or Natural Gas with gas kiln sitter system
Inside Dimensions: (setting area for firing pieces) 41″ wide x 41″ deep x 41″ high, fires to cone 10/2350F, fiber or brick construction.
Model comes with frame welded to firing chamber, two peephole plugs, instruction manual, and warranty card. Vents are palletized separately from kiln. One-year warranty.
Olympic DD40 downdraft kilns can be built of brick or fiber. The frame of the DownDraft is made of heavyangle iron and 1″ thick steel tubing. We’ve thickened both the brickand fiber insulation which is now backed with an 1″ airs pace createdby the square tubing between the stainless steel jacket and theinsulation. Four and one half inches of brick and 1″ ceramic fiberboardinsulate the brick Down Drafts, and three inches of fiber with 1″ceramic fiberboard insulate the fiber DownDrafts. We’ve added air spacewith the metal tubing to the doors of the fiber and brick DownDrafts toenhance the kiln’s strength and efficiency. Additionally, the air spaceresults in a cooler outer surface and a thicker kiln door. Fiber and brick DownDrafts are built with double insulated floors, consisting ofbrick and ceramic fiberboard. The additional strength and insulationenables the kiln to fire at high temperatures, and to maintaintemperatures without damage or deterioration. Efficient venturi burners are used on the Olympic DD40 downdraft kilns with an option for blower burners if desired. These models can be made as a car kiln, add 25%.
