Namesake: Noor Inayat Khan(1914-1944) was a British spy in WWII. She was the daughter of an Indian father and an American mother. Under the codenameMadeleine, she was sent from the UK into occupied France to aid theFrench Resistance. The messages she sent back to London as a wireless operator behind enemy lines significantly aided the Allies success.
