Liquitex Bio-Based Heavy Acrylic is a high viscosity, pigment-rich professional acrylic colour, made with an average 50% bio-based renewable ingredients. With a high concentration of lightfast artist-quality pigment and a satin finish, this paint gives you vibrant permanent colour, with crisp brush strokes and bold knife marks.

What does bio-based mean?The resin base of a typical pro acrylic paint is made from 100% petrol-derived ingredients sourced from fossil fuels and other non-renewable substances. For bio-based products, Liquitex halved this, replacing ingredients with ones from renewable, biological sources. These come from living or once-living organisms like corn, soy, sugarcane and algae which can be regrown or replenished relatively quickly through natural or farming processes.
For this range, every ingredient that has a bio-based alternative has been replaced and theyve avoided any components or pigments derived from animals. As more bio-based ingredients become available, theyll incorporate them.
