Bio-Based Gel Medium

A planet-positive way to extend volume and thicken paint, while extending open time. Liquitex Bio-Based Gel Medium can also be used as a strong collaging adhesive.

What does bio-based mean?The resin base of a typical pro acrylic paint is made from 100% petrol-derived ingredients sourced from fossil fuels and other non-renewable substances. For bio-based products, Liquitex halved this, replacing ingredients with ones from renewable, biological sources. These come from living or once-living organisms like corn, soy, sugarcane and algae which can be regrown or replenished relatively quickly through natural or farming processes.
For this range, every ingredient that has a bio-based alternative has been replaced and theyve avoided any components or pigments derived from animals. As more bio-based ingredients become available, theyll incorporate them.
