Horizon Earthy Dusky Recycled Sari Silk Ribbon

Looking to simulate the colors of a peaceful late horizon at or just after sunset, Smokey/Muted base colors of earthy plum, taupe and golden yellow with no real brightness make up the colorway Horizon. Warm and soothing, this very colorway is subtle and earthy. Excellent for weaving, jewelry making, scrap-booking, spinning in art yarn, and fantastic mixed media! Photos taken in varied lighting with the first picture in natural light with no flash or sunlight to brighten it. The second photo is a darker picture but the color is pretty true. The third shows detail but are under flash and makes the gold look brighter than it is.

Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful yarn. Some edges are fringed,frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is a beautiful pastel on white, and soothing colorway. Ribbon width ranges from 1/2″ to about 1″ across with some areas thicker, up to 2″ or wider. Use them phat or strip them into thinner ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.

Listing is for five or ten yards or a full skein. Skeins average 45 – 55 yards, as some ribbon will be wider and others narrower. The wide ribbons can be torn or cut into a narrower ribbon if desired. Choose from drop down box at upper right.
