What is the difference between a ski shuttle and a double ski shuttle?
A standard ski shuttle holds a single large ball or butterfly of yarn. A double ski shuttle holds two, allowing you to alternate yarns quickly or carry two at once for color blending or dual-weft techniques.
Which length should I choose?
The 25-inch shuttle is recommended for wide warps or large weaving projects. The 19.5-inch is easier to manage for narrower projects or when space is more limited in the shed. For dual yarn use, choose the 13- or 18-inch double ski shuttles depending on warp width.
Can I use these on a rigid heddle loom?
These shuttles are generally too large for rigid heddle looms. They are best suited to floor looms with wider sheds.
