Linocut Safety Hand Guard

Essdee’s mission is to encourage new artists to try their hand at printmaking: this linocut safety hand guard allows artists to protect their hands while printing. The natural instinct is to drive a cutting gouge towards the restraining hand holding the work piece, so Essdee created a guard that protects even the smallest, largest and most dexterous hands. The guard is held either at the corner of the relief block, or on top of the carving material, close to the area to be cut. Any slippage is caught in the upright walls of the guard, thus protecting the user. An ergonomic tool, suitable for both right and left-handed users: a must-have for school or in your toolbox!
