The company was founded by industrialist and entrepreneur Manoel Vieira de Arajo in the 1930s, and is still family-owned to this day. Viarco, which is an acronym for Vieira Arajo & Companhia, has been brought back into the spotlight thanks to A Vida Portuguesa, a Lisbon-based, women-owned shop focused on the traditional craft of Portugal. This classic pencil is made of graphite designed to be used on wood or stone for professional carpentry.
