This scarf features a reproduction of Alejandro Otero’sColorhythm, 1(1955), an artwork in MoMA’s collection. Otero was a Venezulean artist who was a central figure in Latin American abstraction. His Colorhythm series is an in-depth exploration of abstract motifs, balancing repetition with irregularity, color, and shape. In this work, the artist creates a dynamic composition from two basic elements: brightly colored shapes and alternating light and dark bands.
